The Brief
The client asked for a home with the gravitas of classical architecture, without the ornament overload that dates so many villas in the region. The plot's strict setback lines demanded a composition that felt grand from the street on a disciplined footprint.
The Concept
We organised the facade as three vertical bays around a double-height arched entrance, borrowing the rhythm of classical colonnades but drawing every profile with modern restraint. Deep reveals shade the glazing: a passive response to the Gulf sun that also gives the elevation its shadow play.
Materials & Light
Honed limestone cladding, fluted GRC cornice bands, bronze-framed arched glazing and a granite entrance plinth. A single palette, used with discipline.
The Outcome
A residence that reads as quietly monumental by day and glows like a lantern at night, delivered as a full architectural package with day and night visualisations for municipality approval and construction.
